“ I, …………………………, in the name of God Almighty, solemnly do swear before the Nation to loyally carry out my duties, to remain faithful to the Republic of Rwanda, to respect the Head of State and Government institutions and to promote the Rwandese people’s interests, in abiding by the Fundamental Law and other laws”

 

On 6th June 2013, the Executive Secretary of the National Council of Persons with Disabilities and staff members sworn in according to the Article 29 of the Law N° 22/2002 of 09/07/2002 on General Statutes for Rwanda Public Service.

Among dignitaries who were present, the event included the Honorable State Ministerin Charge of Community Development and Social Affairs in MINALOC, Mrs Alvela MUKABARAMBA; Permanent Secretary of MINALOC, Mr Vincent MUNYESHYAKA, the Commissioner in Rwanda Demobilization and Reintegration Commission, Brigadier General John BAGABO, the Career Management officer in MIFOTRA, Mr. SEMPARA Emmanuel, the Executive Director of Umbrella  for Persons with Disabilities against HIV/AIDS, Mr KARANGWA François Xavier and NCPD Board members.

Speaking at the occasion, the Honorable State Minister expressed her gratitude to the NCPD Management that organized such event, in respect to the law, it is compulsory that before getting engaged to his/her duties, every Government employee takes oath before the competent authority. She called upon staff members who have sworn in and other staff in general to work with commitment serving persons with disabilities to ensure that their lives are transformed and welfare improved so that they can fully participate in the socio-economic life of the country. “The performance of duties does not require only academic knowledge but also some values such as honesty, will, accountability, accomplishment of duties and many others are recommended” she said. She then pledged to work with the Institution to accomplish its mission.
