THE DISABILITY COORDINATION FORUM ELECTED THE SUBCOMMITTEES

On 28th May 2019, the National Council of Persons with Disabilities conducted the quarterly meeting commonly named Disability Coordination Forum.  In this forum the opening remarks was made by the Director of Economic and Social Empowerment, Mr. TUYIZERE Oswald. He expressed gratitude to participants who continuously work for Persons with Disabilities and welcomed those who attended this meeting for the first time. In order to raise awareness and avoiding the duplications, the members of Disabilities Coordination Forum approved the subcommittees according the mission of each institution as follow:

In this forum all participants participated in validation of implementation plan of policies, laws and ministerial orders protecting Persons with Disabilities in education like special need education and inclusive Education. Different institutions will improve the accessibility in all sectors of life according to the type of disabilities, it will also conduct awareness to the  screening  of Children with Disabilities  in partnership with the specialist in  special education.  In the employment sector, to the Persons with Disabilities, the government will sensitise employers to the adjustment and upgrade the materials are indeed of persons with Disabilities, organise national campaign in all working place, promoting the jobs for women &  youth. Some of the participants requested NCPD to raise awareness for availing the sign language in all Televisions network. In social protection, persons with severe disabilities and their families are automatically the beneficiaries of  the direct supports.   National Council of Persons with Disabilities designed the disability mainstreaming guide in employment sector.
