NCPD is promoting inclusive education

The National Council of persons with disabilities has organized a monitoring and on-going evaluation of Kamonyi recommendations drawn up during the last training done from 21st March to 6th April 2013, at CEFAPEK (Centre de Formation Agricole et de Petit Elevage de Kamonyi) located at Gacurabwenge, Kamonyi District)on ‘Inclusive education program’, Rights of Children in general and Children with disabilities in particular’ given to the Opinion Leaders, Head Teachers, Community Education workers in KAMONYI District.

The on-going evaluation of these recommendations is done especially with 59 committees of inclusive education in cells across the whole KAMONYI District.

The overall objective of this follow up survey is oriented to measure the impact and outcome of the training and collecting good practices and lessons learnt.The following specific objectives of the training are:

  • To collect data of PwDs identified by committees in cells level,
  • To follow and monitor how their performance contracts are implemented,
  • To see the collaboration and relationship between committees created and schools for promoting persons with disabilities
  • To collect realized innovations which promoting persons with disabilities,
  • To identify challenges (weakness) in implementation of these recommendations,
  • To identify their strengths in implementing these recommendations,
  • To collect good practices and lessons learnt from Kamonyi in terms of promoting Inclusive education program and mainstreaming of PwDs in districts.

The Impact and outcome of this follow up survey, good practices and lessons learnt from Kamonyi District will help National council of persons with disabilities to improve the inclusive education, mainstreaming persons with disabilities and service delivery and extend beyond this program across the whole country.

This follow-up will be done from 05th August to 22nd August 2013.
