DURING THE DISABILITY WEEK NCPD AND ITS STAKEHOLDERS ASSESS THE PUBLIC BUILDINGS

From 28-30 November 2017, NCPD at national level and Disability mainstreaming officers in districts level are starting the assessment on accessibility audit   in public buildings in order to create an inclusive and accessible society for all. The main objectives of this activity are to remove barriers for persons with Disabilities   and raise awareness on removing barriers in public buildings. The assessment is referring to the Ministerial indicates facilities allowing Persons with Disabilities to access and use public places without assistance. The assessment will remind the buildings’ owners the laws related to the accessible buildings and administrative sanctions shall be imposed in the future. The recommendation from assessment will identify specific measures to improve accessibility, including quick and cost-effective modifications (reasonable accommodation).
