LOCAL AUTHORITIES IN KAMONYI DISTRICT GOT TRAINING ON INCLUSIVE EDUCATION

From 21st March to 6th April 2013, at CEFAPEK (Centre de Formation Agricole et de PetitElevage de Kamonyi) located at Gacurabwenge, Kamonyi District) the National Council of Persons with Disabilitiesin collaboration with Kamonyi District and CEFAPEK is conducting a training workshop on ‘Inclusive education program’, Rights of Children in general and Children with disabilities in particular’ to the Opinion Leaders, Head Teachers, Community Education workers in KAMONYI District.

The overall objective of this training workshop will be to provide knowledge and skills on Inclusive Education, its importance, the rights of children in general and children with disabilities in particular.

According to Emmanuel Murera, the Training and Skills Development Officer at the National Council of Persons with disabilities who is in charge of this activity; from this training; local authorities, opinion leaders, persons of liaison and persons delivering services in Kamonyi District will be sensitized on the importance of inclusive education program, and therefore the rights of persons with disabilities in general and children with disabilities in particular will be respected.

The training will be followed by 658 persons including 12Community Educators, 12 social affairs from all Sectors of Kamonyi District and 317 villages Representatives.
