In order to promote the welfare and to be more inclusive in sports and leisure for Persons with Disabilities, the National Council of Persons with Disabilities is organizing the workshop of the coaches and referees in sit ball. The trainees are coming from Home de Vierge Pauvre Gatagara, Huye, Nyanza and Home Misericorde Muhanga. The training took place on 16th to 20th April, 2018 at Huye in HVP Gatagara. After the training, the trainees will create and coach children with disabilities from schools. More Children with physical Impairment don’t participate in sports well as the sports enhance overall well-being said Mrs NKURAYIJA Marcel, Acting staff in charge of Sports and leisure in NCPD. The most frequently identified barriers to the active participation of children with disabilities in sports and physical recreation are the child's functional limitations, lack of motivation and unavailability of facilities. One of the solutions of such issues is to train the coaches and referees in sit ball teams and create the teams in inclusive schools and centers. The training was done in two parts theory and practical. The 10 trainees has gotten the basic knowledge in career of sit ball and hope that the teams of sit ball will be created in their school said HIRWA Danny, the Coach from National Paralympic committee. ZANINKA Vestine From HVP Gatagara Nyanza, said that the training went very well and hope that the sit ball will be launched in HVP Gatagara Nyanza as soon as possible and the recreation of Children with Disabilities will be promoted. She added that the sit ball team will be only the tool of recreation but also the tool of competition at National Level. HABUMUKIZA Emmanuel the Coach from HVP Gatagara Huye ensured the trainers that from next week the team will be active. In his closing remarks Mr. Marcel NKURAYIJA urged trainees to be more inclusive in sit ball and practice what they have learnt because at the end of May 2018, the competition in sit ball is planned and encouraged everyone to be the winner; he added NCPD will continue to create teams of sit ball in all inclusive education.
