NCPD is assessing Education issues within Centers

In line of promoting education and other services offered to the children and other persons with disabilities, the National Council of persons with disabilities has organised an assessment of education issues within Centres that take care of persons with disabilities, schools and Inclusive Vocational training Centres with the overall objectiveto assess challenges that persons with disabilities are facing in education and raise awareness of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) for a social economic welfare. The assessment was organized from 04th December 2013 up to 16th December 2013 in the following identified Centers:

ICK KABGAYI,HRD in Muhanga, CENTRE DES JEUNES SOURDS MUETS DE NGOMA

ADAR TUBAHOZE in Huye District, AMIZERO Y’UBUZIMA in GISAGARA District, BE STRONG (KOMERA) in RUTSIRO District, VTC RUBENGERA in Karongi District, WISHAVURA MWANA /MURAMBA in NGORORERO District, MAE RULINDO in RULINDO District, AMOUR&MISERCORDE APAX JANJA in Gakenke District, AMOUR&MISERCORDE APAX JANJA, CENTRE SAINT VINCENT, CENTRE DES SOURDS MUETS in MUSANZE, VTC RUBAVU in Rubavu District, AVEH UMURERWA in Bugesera District, HVP GATAGARA in Rwamagana District and  CENTRE NDEGO in Kayonza District with these specific objectives:

  • To assess education issues affecting persons with disabilities in Centers, Special needs VTCs.
  • To identify challenges in Education and see how inclusive education can be improved;
  • Together views how club of persons with disabilities among centers and schools can be established;

Note that in line with the expected results of this activity, education issues are identified, solutions are undertaken, special need education is improved and inclusive education promoted targeting an outcome to improve the social welfare of Persons with disabilities within centers and whole the Country.
