NCP AND NUDOR THROUG IKIRARO PROJECT WILL WORK MUTUALLY TO SUPPORT PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES

From 16-20 October 2017, National Council   the National Council of Persons with Disabilities in collaboration with National Union Disability Organization in Rwanda and Voluntary Service Overseas are assessing NCPD and NUDOR in local structure Musanze District. The overall purpose of the activity is to help NUDOR and NCPD to understand how their local structures are working so that they can be supported each other. The main objectives is  to foster the collaboration between National Council of Persons with Disabilities as government and National Union Disability Organisation as Civil society, Also the local structures are important for making sure people with disabilities and their families are represented and that local government will  support to include PWDs in local development. The assessment want to make sure if the local NCPD Committees and the NUDOR platforms to carry out their role so that they could all work together to achieve the rights of people with disabilities. At field the assessors are meeting with NCPD and NUDOR local representatives at District, Sector and Cell levels, NCPD and NUDOR at National, local & authorities at District, Sector and Cell levels, PWDs and their families for collecting everyone views in order to produce an action plan on how to improve the effectiveness of the local structures between Civil society and public and public institutions in promotion of welfare Persons with Disabilities.
