THE MODEL INCLUSIVE HEALTH CENTRES IS LAUNCHED IN GATSIBO DISTRICT AT KABARORE HEALTH CENTER

National Council of Persons with Disabilities in collaboration with UPHLS (the  Umbrella  oforganizations   ofpersons  with  disabilities  andforhealth  promotionprovide  equitable   accesstoservices for persons  with  disabilities and promote    inclusion in health  centers. It  is in this framework, these institutions manage one Health Centre in each province in order to showcase  "Model   Inclusive   Health   Services' where the   government  institutions  shall learnfromthemandreplicate  intheirrespective  institutions, Said Emmanuel NDAYISABA Executive Secretary of National Council of Persons with Disabilities. The Executive Director of UPHLS Mrs Karangwa Francois Xavier said that UPHLS transforms five  model  health  centre  (Kinyinya   Health   Centre  in  Gasabo, Kabarole  Health  Centre  in  Gatsibo,  Nemba  Health  Centre  in  Gakenke,   Gatagara  Health Centre  in Nyanza  and Rubengera  Health  Centre  in Karongi)  were  on basic  sign  language, mobility  and  orientation  for blind  people  as well as providing  efficient   services  to clients with disabilities.

One of the patient Agnes Kamanzi with Physical Impairment said that she is pleased  for removing the barriers in this health centers because in previous days persons with Disabilities did not get the efficient and sufficient services since the nurses came in down for medical consultation said Agnes KAMANZI.

Miss Yvonne Higiro the nurse at Kabarore Health Centre said that She has been trained in sign language interpreter, how to head forward  the persons with visual  and the customer care required for persons with Disabilities.
