TRAINING ON DISABILITY AND RIGHTS FOR NCPD DISTRICT COMMITTEES IN KIGALI CITY AND NYARUGURU.

TheNational Council of Persons with Disabilities (NCPD) is committed to mobilize all efforts to promote persons with disabilities and to raise community awareness on rights of person with disabilities. In order to empower its organs from national to cell level, NCPD has organized training on “Disability and rights’’ for Provincial andDistrict committees.

Within this framework, from 26-29 December 2012 NCPD committees from Kigali City and Nyaruguru have been trained. It is the 3rd time for NCPD to conduct such training since NCPD Committees from Western and Southern Provinces had been trained some days before. 

The training conducted was focusing on disability and rights of persons with disabilities, the responsibilities of NCPD elected committees, Lobbying and advocacy, Leadership & Development management, Planning and Reporting.

Note that at District Level, every committee is composed by seven members: Coordinator, Vice Coordinator, Secretary, In charge of Justice, In charge of Good governance, in charge of Economy and in charge of social affairs.
