To expedite the implementation plan of UNCRPD recommendations, all institutions must play an important role in mainstreaming

In 2008, Rwanda ratified the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and has made big progress in protection of Persons with Disabilities through legislative reform. In 2015 Rwanda submitted its initial report on the implementation of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, which was reviewed in 2019 and the experts of UN has marked 67 recommendations Rwanda has to implement. It is in this light that from 22-26 June 2020, the National Council of Persons with Disabilities in collaboration with Humanity and inclusion are organizing the workshop of the professionals from Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Local Government, National Human Rights Commission, National Union of Disability Organizations in Rwanda and Great Lakes Initiative for Human Rights and Development. The workshop focused on designing the means which shall support any institutions to achieve on the its implementation and realisation by all institutions. In his closing remarks the Executive Secretary of the National Council of Persons with Disabilities Mr NDAYISABA Emmanuel thanked the staff from different institutions above  for  developing the specific Activities to be taken in consideration, enumerate responsible institutions (and key stakeholders) and  the deadline of implementation plan of UNCRPD  recommendations for overcoming on  its  implementation, all  institutions have to play an important  role in mainstreaming and Inclusion of persons with Disabilities.
